Goodwood Revival
the brief
Goodwood Revival is a celebration of vintage motorsport, style, and culture, and as a passionate photographer, I couldn’t resist capturing the essence of this iconic event as a personal project. Though uncommissioned, my goal was to focus on the unique atmosphere, crafting images that felt like they belonged to the 1940s.
I immersed myself in the event, photographing everything from the lively paddock scenes and exhilarating races to the vintage-dressed crowds that make Goodwood Revival so special. Each shot was composed with the intent to evoke nostalgia, ensuring the images carried the warmth and charm of a bygone era.
Post-event, I worked meticulously on editing, applying enhancements and subtle colour grading to heighten the vintage aesthetic. The result was a collection of timeless photographs that still remain some of my favourites to this day. Looking back at the images, it’s easy to imagine they were taken during the 1940s, not in the present day—a testament to the magic of Goodwood Revival and the atmosphere it creates.
This personal project wasn’t just about photography; it was about storytelling, capturing the unique charm of an event that transports its guests back in time. The experience deepened my love for atmospheric photography and continues to inspire my work.
