the brief

I’ve worked with Wrights Roofing Services for around seven years, supporting them with everything from their website to commercial photography. WRS has grown from a one-man roofing business into an established team providing roofing, carpentry and UPVC services across Essex, Hertfordshire and London, with a strong focus on workmanship and customer service.

Around five years ago, I designed and built their website with one important goal: it needed to last. Rather than creating something they would constantly need to pay someone else to update, I trained the team to manage it themselves. Since then, they’ve added new services and pages without losing the original design or consistency. Years later, the website still feels modern and continues to represent the quality of the business.

Photography has been another big part of our relationship. WRS takes a lot of pride in its team and the standard of its finished work, so I wanted their imagery to feel equally polished.

For their team photographs, I scout locations and bring in a small crew to help create something far beyond a standard group photo. Each person is often photographed and lit individually before I combine around 20–30 photographs in Photoshop to create one seamless final image. This gives me complete control over the lighting and allows the whole team to look their best.

I’ve also joined the WRS team on site to capture them working on roofs, as well as photographing their offices, workshops and vehicle fleet. Alongside showcasing their workmanship, this content helps potential employees see the people, environment and culture behind the company — supporting WRS as they continue to grow their team.
