the brief

Helena Romanes School approached me during the pandemic with a unique challenge: with no visitors allowed on-site, they needed a virtual solution to showcase their facilities to prospective students and parents. As a former student of the school, it was an especially rewarding opportunity for me to return and help them create something meaningful during such a challenging time.

The project involved creating a virtual tour that highlighted the school’s facilities, included interviews with teachers, and provided an engaging presentation for families. Filming required careful planning, including adhering to student safeguarding protocols and strict COVID-19 precautions to ensure everyone’s safety. To help teachers feel comfortable during their interviews, I used a teleprompter and worked with them to deliver natural, confident presentations.

The final video was edited to create a professional and polished tour, showcasing the school’s ethos, facilities, and friendly staff. The school was so pleased with the outcome that it became a recurring project, and I’ve been invited back each year to update the virtual tour and continue providing photography and videography for their prospectuses.

Revisiting Helena Romanes and working with my former teachers was a nostalgic and fulfilling experience. Seeing their positive reactions to the finished product made it all the more special. The virtual tours and high-quality visuals have since become an integral part of the school’s marketing strategy, helping them connect with families and present their best side even in challenging circumstances.
